I took this mini air compressor out of the box and out of the wrapping, took it out to my car to put air in my wheelchair tire (which is basically just like a bike tire), and it worked for about 10 seconds, then stopped working altogether. I tried it in three other cars cigarette lighters, and an AC adapter, just to be sure it wasn't my car's cigarette lighter that wasn't working. It was the air compressor. Furthermore, even though it is an inexpensive item, I could not believe how cheaply it is made and feels in general. Furthermore... it doesn't even have an on/off switch or power switch! This means, that as soon as you plug it into a cigarette lighter, it just starts going. So, you have to put the hose on the tire before you plug it in, and then the only way you can turn it off is by pulling it out of the cigarette lighter, which for most situations, is not proximal to where the pump is, so you have no way of gauging the air pressure (which, by the way, in the 10 seconds that the...Read more By This review is from: 250 PSI Mini Air Compressor (Misc.) This item should NOT be sold. OH, it "works" -- if that means it makes a compressor sound when it is connected to the power source. But does it "work" -- no. It might for a balloon or a beach ball, but it sure does not do a thing when hooked to the auto tires. There is no pressure at all to go into the tire. I don't have a ball to try it on to see if there might be any way to redeem this item. My advice. Look elsewhere. By This review is from: 250 PSI Mini Air Compressor (Misc.) First thing you notice that the air compressor does not have an off/on switch. This makes it very inconvenient to use as the compressor starts "working" as soon as you plug it into the cigarette lighter. I tried to add air to my car tire. It already showed a pressure of 25 lbs and needed to be at 30 lbs. The air compressor did not add any pressure, even though I left it on for quite a while. The guage showed very slight movement. When I removed the compressor nozzle from the tire and measured again, the pressure had actually gone down to 23 lbs. When I put my finger on the nozzle while the compressor was on, I could feel very little pressure being output.
I am very dissappointed in this product. I bought it from 13deals.com and only paid $8.99 for it (plus $4.99 shipping). It wasn't worth the effort to send it back. |
