Summary: Great product, very quiet. 2010-05-12
Comment: This is my third air compressor after wearing out others. I did a lot of research for a compressor of this size and capacity and after reading all the positive reviews on this, and the fact that I got it shipped for $4.95 (that's not a typo) I couldn't pass on it.

When the reviews say this is quiet, they weren't kidding. I like the fact that the air bleed-off valve on the pop is a "flip on/off" valve...you don't have to mess with unscrewing it like others I've had.

This works great and I expect to get many years of use out of it...now I can finally paint my daughter's rainbow swing set and my wrought iron gate with a compressor that won't kick on every 10 seconds thanks to the 15 gallon capacity. It's easy to move, quiet and is very easy to use. 5 stars all the way.

Summary: Two year max lifetime, no parts, no thanks 2010-03-15
Comment: I actually posted my experience under George's review here from 3 months ago. The long and the short, it after two years of very light duty use, the motor died, and is not available from Dewalt.

Now I am (once again) in the market for a new compressor. My old Walmart Campbell Hausfeld lasted years longer, for one third the price.

Summary: Good unit; very bad parts avalability 2009-12-11
Comment: I have had this unit for about 2 years and used it only on a DIY basis with a total of maybe 30 to 40 hours. Last week started it for some air for a blowing job and at about 120psi motor statrted to cut in and out, run slowly and make a very bad noise, so shut it down. Opened the cover and there were no visable falts other than brush sparking.

From the noise, sparking and reduced speed, I'm sure the motor is bad. Tried to buy a new motor and much to the surprise of the DeWalt service Center teck, there is no motor avalable. I consider not having complete parts avalability a totally unacceptable business practice on DeWalt's part. Is this an other case of the bean counters killing a product and in the end a company?

Summary: Great piece of equipment 2009-12-03
Comment: As always Dewalt makes great products. I love this compressor. I know it cost more than others but the quality is outstanding. Solidly built and very quiet

Summary: Great value, small footprint, runs the big tools well enough. 2009-09-15
Comment: At CDN$350 from the Borg, the price was excellent. The small, upright tank means it fits easily into the shop, under the lumber rack. The 15-gallon tank is small, but the 200psi tank pressure means it still holds as much air as a larger, lower-pressure tank does.

Takes a long time to fill the tank -- so you may be tempted to just drain only the water daily, leaving the air nearly fully charged. Dunno if that's good or bad, but most of my buddies say they do the same with their compressors.

Has no trouble running a 480 ft-lb impact wrench for intermittent use. Works fine with the air-chisel, and for 1-2 minute long bursts of the 1/4" die grinder. Nailers use much less air than that, so no issues with those either. Just about perfect for home workshop/garage use.

The gauges are excellent, as is the built-in quick-connect.

Quieter than the pancake compressor it replaced here, but still noisy enough to warrant wearing some hearing protection.

After a couple of weeks of use, I noticed little black specks of belt debris all over the floor near the unit. Took the shroud off, and filed down some rough castings near the belt. Dunno if that took care of it or not -- maybe the belt tension is off (?). Will keep an eye on it and exchange it if the problem persists.

Cheers
