Power and Durability Without the Heat
The DD2T2 is designed to bring power, durability, and portability to the jobsite. It's crafted of durable cast iron and provides double the pump life of similar oil-free products to tackle the toughest 100% continuous-duty applications.
At the same time, its high-performance 2-horsepower motor doesn't require a starter and won't overheat, thanks to manual thermal overload protection.
Easy to Service and Maintain
This pump gives you a break from the hassle of service and maintenance. With Ingersoll Rand synthetic lubricants' 2,000-hour oil-change intervals (four times longer than mineral-based lubricants), you can go longer between service checks. Keeping enough oil in the tank is easy; simply check the level via the clear glass.
For further convenience, the DD2T2's high-efficiency, stainless steel finger valves are simple, efficient, and easy to maintain.
The DD2T2 is backed by a one-year warranty.

I considered the oil-lubed Porter Cable job boss before, my friend has one of those and I used it many times before, but the IR compressor is much quieter and a little bit lighter (makes a difference when loading and unloading from the truck). On the other hand, the wheels on the PC unit make it better if you need to carry it to some distance (which I normally don't need to do). Used mine mainly with my nailers (framing, finish and brad) but also with some high speed die grinders and polishers. While it does a fine job with the nailers it obviously isn't made to generate enough CFM for continous grinding and does need to recover every 30 seconds or so for a few seconds. Whenever I used it with a grinder it would be running for lengths of time with no complaints at all. It worked flawlessly until some bastard decided to steal it from my job site, I'm going to buy another one of those...Read more 7 of 7 people found the following review helpful: By This review is from: Ingersoll-Rand DD2T2 14.5 Amp 2-Horsepower 4-1/2-Gallon Oiled Twin Hot Dog Compressor (Tools & Home Improvement) Running several framing crews with larger units, we always have a need for smaller units for punchout work. Impulse units simply cost too much to operate on site all day (do the math). Setting the unit up you can easily run 2, even more nailers on this pump. The pump size and volume is what is important not just the size of the tank. It does no good to have a 60 gallon tank if it take an hour to recover (had this proplem with other smaller pumps like Bostage). All said and done great little pump very dependable unit. (And very poorly at that...)
First off, the compressor arrived with no fewer than three air leaks. The dual quick-connect fitting, and both drain cocks, were installed with NO tape or dope. Worse, once I re-installed them PROPERLY, one of the drain cocks was next to impossible to close completely, and the other could not be turned tightly enough to completely close it off, including with a wrench. So I called IR customer service (1-800-SERV-AIR) to order replacements. While on the phone, I asked the tech about the claimed 100% duty cycle. Turns out it's nowhere even near that! He said that if the compressor cycles more than 7 times an hour, it is considered abuse. SEVEN TIMES AN HOUR?? That's roughly two pin nailers! Must be Ingersoll has a different definition for 'duty cycle' than the industry standard. Interestingly enough, it is only the marketing...Read more |
